Wondering, Why Cars Have Covered License Plates!!

You might have come across a parked car with a covered license plate. What if we tell you that, the number plate is actually beneath the hard shell and retracts with just a click of a button? Shocked, right? Yes, it is true.

Those are protected license plates.

Burglars these days look to steal cars with no number plate hider installed because they are easier to sell. Just unscrewing two bolts, changing the number plates and installing a fake number plate is all they do. However, for the cars installed with number plate hider, it is not an easy task. The number plate swivels and hides inside a hard case (made out of army-grade materials), which is impossible to break.

It comes with a specialized kit that allows it to hide car number plate, thus, rightly called as ‘protect license plate kits’. A remote is supplied with the kit to allow the owner to hide or make the car number plates covered.

Benefits of protected number plate kits

·        Installable on any car:Unlike other car accessories, these number plate kits can be installed on any car model, manufactured by any company. The kit makes use of electronic wiring only (to draw power), which is present in every car of course. Therefore, you need not worry about getting a specific model for your car.

·     Legal in every country:Although most of the government agencies across the world prohibit the use of any accessory, other than supplied the car manufacturer, the protected number plate is n’t illegal. As a matter of fact, many government subsidiaries provide such number plates on a commercial scale. However, this exception is valid only when the number plate installed is as per the Motor Vehicles Act of the local governing authority.

·        Does not affect fuel efficiency:The number plate hider draws power only from the battery of your car not the engine motor; which means it will not be affecting your car’s fuel efficiency in any way. Neither does the kit weighs so much that it will affect the drag and hence the mileage of the car.
